Equitable Digital Access for Students Webinar
NZ has up to 40,000 households with 100,000 school age children without home internet, this accounts for approximately 30% of digital divide challenge in our nation. Numerous localised endeavours to solve the problem, but these are often: - not scalable - overbuilding existing infrastructure - not sustainable The Ministry of Education (MoE) programme aims to solve this in partnership with the community, industry, and government (local and central) so that: - All students have equitable digital access both on and off campus for the benefit of their education. - Parents and whanau have the motivation, trust and skills to support their children’s home based digital learning, engage with the school using digital tools to support their children’s education. - Educators will have the skills and tools to change teaching practice to leverage the ubiquitous equitable digital access available to their students In this webinar, you’ll hear about the MoE's journey, the solution framework, the pilot programmes and their call for support from local government.
