MBIE is on a journey to becoming a data and evidence led organisation. Since 2019, there has been a clear roadmap of initiatives to reach 'data readiness'. Currently, this roadmap is being refreshed to take MBIE to the next level in support of Te Ara Amiorangi the Organisational Strategy which priorities MBIE to be Empowered by Data.

Ahead of refreshing its data roadmap MBIE carried out a review which included four components:

  • Measuring MBIE's data and insight maturity
  • Evaluating the Data Readiness Programme
  • Listening to key stakeholders to understand their vision, concerns and priorities
  • Lessons learned from COVID-19

Measuring MBIE's data and insight maturity enabled the organisation to plan for the future by understanding the current position. Also by measuring maturity consistently and ongoing it provides an understanding of progress and identifies areas of focus.

This webinar looks at the process undertaken at MBIE to measure the data and insights maturity, the findings and the nest steps along its data journey.
