Heather brings a wealth of experience from the banking and insurance sectors, where she honed her skills in accurate document management, customer service and managing challenging conversations.

Her career spans both large corporate environments and small businesses, providing a well-rounded perspective on diverse business operations.

For seven years, Heather and her husband owned and operated their own business, employing a team of 12. This venture, which encompassed both manufacturing and retail, provided valuable insights into procurement from a supplier's perspective.

A change of direction in 2014 brought Heather to Whangārei District Council. Since then, she has made the procurement space her own, leveraging her extensive background to enhance procurement processes and strategies.

Her previous experience in customer service, business management, and operations has been instrumental in her local government career, enabling her to navigate complex projects and drive value for Council.

Heather also holds the role of Civil Defence Response Manager for WDC, where she coordinates emergency response efforts and ensure community safety during crises.

Heather's unique blend of corporate, entrepreneurial, and public sector experience, along with her commitment to community resilience, makes her an invaluable resource for today's webinar.
